I have been using TradeZero since I started with a small account, which is great for beginners due to the low funding requirements and no PDT (pattern day trader) rule for international customers. However US customers must still follow the PDT rule.

Guardian Trading

Guardian is a direct-access broker. I use them along with DAS Trader Pro as the execution platform. They have higher acccount minimums ($30,000) but offer good commission rates and short locate availability.
